PMMA / ACRYLIC

The Chemical name is Polymethyl methacrylate either PMMA Acrylic in brief.

The material is also known by the following names: Plexiglas, Perspex, Altuglas, Quinn, Acrylox, Acrysign. The material sold under these brand names is functionally almost identical.

There are 2 kinds of Acrylic manufactured :

Extruded (XT)

- Less easy to edit by tensions in plate

- Chance on crazing / bubbles during editing

- Smaller tolerance thickness

Cast (GS)

- Virtually energized so very good / versatile editing

- Good optical stability

- Very bright

- Greater tolerance in thickness

- Extensive delivery

Features with attention to difference between XT and HS :

- Fully transparent, clear, transparent

- Good editing (cutting, drilling, milling, gluing, bending, polishing, laser, tempering, thermoforming)

- Good to squirt

- Good screen printing, stipple

- Less well digitally printed

- Fire class B2

- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use

- Light, weather and UV resistant

- Light Transmission (LT Light Transmission) of 92%

- Specific gravity 1.2 kg per m2 per mm thickness

- 30 x stronger than glass and 50 % lighter

Delivery :

- Standard dimensions 3050 x 2030 mm

- Standard of 1 to 100 mm thick,

- In tubes & round rod square rod

- Molded (GS) and extruded (XT)

- Crystal clear UV permeable or resistant

- Opal, various light permeability’s

- Colours, translucent / smoke colour / full

- At any RAL colour from approx. 100 Kg material

- (Dual) Satin, matted
